Response to history book overwhelming
Keystone Square Museum announced earlier this year it would be publishing a pictorial history of Lampasas County focusing on the years between 1865 and 1957.
Since that time, the public's response has been overwhelming. Historic photographs of the county have poured in, and this has caused a delay in the book's publication.
In order to include many of these historic photos, some of the chapters had to be "rethought," according to a museum spokesman.
The book is limited to 240 photographs, so selecting which images to include and leave out was difficult.
"We wish we could include everyone's photographs, but, in the end, however, we are confident that the book is one the county will be proud of," said the spokesman.
The book should be available by the end of the year. The museum is not accepting any more photographs for publication.
"Lampasas County," by the Lampasas County Museum Foundation Inc., is being published by Arcadia Publishing, the leading local history publisher in the U.S. with more than 5,000 titles in print. "Lampasas County" will be part of Arcadia's Images of America series.
