Mr. Maddox

Wallace Maddox
Funeral services for Wallace Harold Maddox, 79, of Lometa are July 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Howell- Doran Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Crosby officiating, assisted by the Rev. Scott Edmondson. Burial will be at Chadwick Cemetery in Lampasas County.

Mr. Maddox died June 28 in Lampasas.

He was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Sulphur Springs, Ark., the son of Charles William and Etta Ferguson Maddox.

He married Bernice Lybrand on May 5, 1950, in Hot Springs, Ark.

Mr. Maddox was a member of the Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees for many years.

He assisted with the Lometa FFA Livestock Show, and helped found the Lometa Rural Water Supply Corp.

He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, and worked for many years for ACCO Feeds.

Mr. Maddox was a member of Pecan Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of Lometa; two sons and their wives, Tommy and Kay Maddox, and Jimmy and Beverly Maddox, all of Lometa; one daughter and her husband, Susan and Bill Simmons, of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Jody Simmons and wife Katherine, Mariann Herrington and husband Micah, Lori Oden and husband Cody, Steven Maddox and wife Lacy, Kristi Jennings and husband Gideon, and Elizabeth Maddox and Kasey Mock; three great-grandchildren, Caleb and Porter Simmons, and Callan Maddox; two brothers and their wives, Darel and Joice Maddox, of Bruce, Miss., and Jerry and Lynda Maddox, of Little Rock, Ark.

The family requested memorials to the charity of one's choice.
