Four Lampasas FFA members were approved as recipients of the FFA Lone Star Degree.
This is the highest award an FFA member can receive from the Texas FFA Association, and students must meet criteria which include dollars and hours earned as part of their three or more years of FFA activities and their supervised agricultural projects.
The Texas FFA State Awards check and selection was held June 12-13 at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.
FFA members Reese Vann, Kelsie Ray, Brook Buttler and Sara Jackson were approved to receive their Lone Star FFA Degree at the 80th annual Texas FFA Convention set July 14-18 in Lubbock.
The special Lone Star ceremony will be held July 15 at Texas Tech University's Spirit Arena.
Additionally, the Lampasas FFA program was ranked as one of the top 10 programs in the state.
There are 945 FFA programs in Texas, and the National Chapter Award is an award program that evaluates a program's overall 12- month program of activities in the areas of member development, community development and service.
