Near miss
Recent high winds caused a more than 60-foot tree to split in half. While one portion completely covered a driveway (narrowly missing a car) in the 300 block of Park Street, the portion that remained upright swayed precariously in the wind, threatening nearby structures and forcing occupants of an adjoining home to flee until Lampasas Fire Department personnel, along with the city of Lampasas' Street and Electric departments, removed the large cottonwood.
