      Unbelievable. Child Protective Services, a branch of the government, has the authority to walk into a religious community and take 416 children (half under the age of 5) away from their mommies and daddies on the whims of an anonymous phone call, a caller who cannot be found.

      Donald Baker's May 5 letter to the editor seemingly equates either voting for a Democrat or not wearing a flag pin with committing an act of treason. To me, the tone of his convictions suggests a holier-than-thou, i.e., superior attitude.

Grateful for help from Lometa
      On Saturday, May 24 I was traveling with my family through Lometa. I stopped at the convenience store to fill up with gas. I pulled in, filled my car up and paid at the pump. We all climbed back in the car to continue back to Killeen, where I live.
