Near miss
High winds last week caused a 60-foot tree to split in half. While one portion completely covered a driveway (narrowly missing a car) on Park Avenue, the portion that remained upright swayed precariously in the wind, threatening nearby structures and forcing occupants of an adjoining home to flee until Lampasas Fire Department personnel removed the large cottonwood.
