Robert Rush

Funeral services were May 12, 2008, at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas for William "Robert" Rush, 48. The Rev. Jerry Perkins, pastor of School Creek Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was at Smith School Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Rush died May 2 at his home in Midway City, Calif.

He was born April 2, 1960, in Alexandria, La., to William Thomas (W.T.) and Alice Elizabeth Langford Rush.

Mr. Rush graduated from Irving High School in 1978. He then attended Texas State Technical College in Waco where he received an associate's degree.

He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed surfing, kayaking, skiing and cooking.

For the past six years, Mr. Rush resided in Orange County, Calif.

In 2006, Mr. Rush returned to school and earned a degree in counseling. He had been a counselor at a California drug and alcohol rehabilitation center.

Survivors include his mother; a brother, Mike Rush; an uncle, Henry Langford, and wife, Camille; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
