Beef, range field day slated at Llano Llano County's Beef & Range Field Day is June 5 at RACE Ranch and the Llano American Legion Hall. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. at Llano Junior High School parking lot. Coffee and donuts will be served. Participants will caravan from the school to RACE Ranch. Morning topics will include "Brush management, chemical control and other considerations," and "Prescribed burning: planning considerations and county regulations." At the tour's conclusion, the group will head to the American Legion Hall for a catered lunch and the remainder of the program. Afternoon topics include "Plant ID contest," "Plant benefits to wildlife," "Goat production and Dorper sheep for weed control and the effects on wildlife," "Diseases carried by wildlife," and "Update on new chemicals and laws and regulations." The Texas Department of Agriculture will offer six continuing education units for those with a pesticide applicator's license. Make reservations to attend by phoning (325) 247- 5154 or 247-5159.
