      The report from the May 7 sale at Lampasas Cattle Auction is as follows. Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 505 compared to 543 last week and 529 last year. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers $3-$5 lower; slaughter cows and bulls steady.

Beef, range field day slated at Llano
      Llano County's Beef & Range Field Day is June 5 at RACE Ranch and the Llano American Legion Hall. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. at Llano Junior High School parking lot. Coffee and donuts will be served. Participants will caravan from the school to RACE Ranch.
