Mrs. Vickery

Carlyne Francis Jenkins Vickery, 71, died April 26, 2008, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Funeral services were April 29 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart. Burial was at Jeffrey Cemetery in McMahan.

Mrs. Vickery was born July 24, 1936, in Hico, the daughter of Ross and Neva Jenkins. She attended first grade at Johnson City, and the remainder of her schooling was in Lampasas. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1954 and attended T.U. for one year.

After moving to San Antonio in 1955, she was a secretary for the Department of Public Safety.

She married Trooper Royce B. Vickery on March 14, 1959, in San Antonio. They lived in San Antonio until 1978 when they moved to Dale.

Mrs. Vickery was a secretary in Lockhart for many offices, including the Caldwell County Tax Office, until she retired to be a fulltime homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Brenda Marsh, and husband, Jason, and Linda Lynn Dunkeson, and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Andrew, Joshua and Rachelle; and two brothers, Willard Jenkins, and wife, Carol, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and Bob Jenkins, and wife, Jan, of Fort Worth.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Scotty Dunkeson.
