It was a wonderful run; one that ended just one step short. The Lometa One Act Play, after advancing from Zone to District and to Area, and racking up numerous individual awards along the way, reached its final destination in Brenham where it was named as alternate to Class 1A state competition.
Directing the One Act Play in its production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," Elizabeth Dickison found a great deal to be proud of in the efforts of her cast and crew.
"This has been a fun year for the kids. I really enjoyed the play and the journey it took us on," she said.
Sara Byrd and Wendell Bradley served as assistant directors.
Although Lometa's cast and crew did not reach its goal of a third trip to state in as many years, the play earned a number of individual honors. "Our cast and crew worked long and hard to make this play a success," said Mrs. Dickison. "I am extremely proud of the effort they put forth, and their work was rewarded many times over in both the end result and the awards they received."
