Lampasas property owners sent appraisal letters for 2008 tax year
      Property owners whose property value has increased in the last year should soon receive a notice of their 2008 appraised value from the Lampasas Central Appraisal District. About 8,500 notices were mailed Friday. Notices on business personal property will be mailed May 12 and May 16.

Grand jury returns indictments
      The Lampasas County Grand Jury handed down 19 indictments in its most recent term. The Lampasas Police Department presented cases that resulted in the indictment of: • Blair Duane Wright, 40, for driving while intoxicated with a child, on Feb. 13.

Pecan Field Day on tap
      San Saba County Pecan Growers will host the annual Pecan Field Day May 5 at the Civic Center. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the program at 9 a.m. A $20 registration fee will be accepted in advance, or $25 at the door. A catfish lunch will be provided.
