First Women's Expo on tap for May 8

The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce's first Women's Expo is May 8 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Mesquite Creek, 306 E. Second St.

There will be vendors featuring items for health, nutrition, detoxification, cosmetics, fashion, jewelry, shoes, accessories, leather goods, home decor, gifts, interior design, finance, realty, marketing, massage therapy, fitness, candles and more.

Several speakers are scheduled, to include Dr. Charlene Smith, Metroplex Health System's Wellness director, who will discuss current health issues. A lesson in time management and cooking sessions also are on tap.

Three women will be selected winners of a complimentary beauty and fashion makeover. Names will automatically be entered in the drawing for each ticket purchased no later than today. Winners will be announced Monday.

Each participant will receive a souvenir bag, have a chance to win raffle prizes, take part in demonstrations, and sample products.

A catered dinner will be served.

Tickets are $20 and are available at the chamber office, Cattles Pharmacy or Hodges & Sargent Pharmacy. Tickets will be sold until Wednesday.
