Entities slate May 6 event for businesses

Lampasas Economic Development Corp., in conjunction with the Small Business Administration, will present "Understanding Your Finances," a workshop for those planning to start a business or for existing business owners.

Business development specialist Debra Dimando of the U.S. SBA will provide information on SBA's resource partners and free services available to start or grow one's business; what banks look for in a loan application; and understanding one's credit. Other guest speakers include Pete Muriel, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, and Rosa Rios Valdez of BCL of Texas.

The event is May 6 at City Council Chambers, 405 S. Main St. Registration is at 11:45 a.m., with the program from noon to 2 p.m.

Attenders will receive information on business contacts and resources, presentation handouts and access to resources for starting and growing one's business.
