The Lampasas High School jazz band earned first-division ratings from each judge at the recent Temple College Jazz Festival. Outstanding Musicianship Awards went to Carter Burks, Alexi Bulloch, Stephen Grant, Cord Jackson, the saxophone section and the trombone section. Glenn Grant is the group's director. In total, the band earned seven awards. Plaques were awarded to bands which received "superior" ratings from each judge. Forty-two bands and vocal groups from 22 cities participated in the annual jazz festival.
