Local educator serving on TEKS writing team

Dr. Steve Forsythe was selected to serve on the Texas Education Agency 2008 Career and Technology Education Writing Team.

Forsythe was nominated by Gail Lowe of Lampasas, State Board of Education member, to review, revise and edit the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills curriculum for agriscience.

Forsythe, Lampasas High School agriscience instructor, was selected in February and notified of his appointment as one of 90 Texas agriscience educators on the secondary and post-secondary levels.

The team met April 17-19 in Austin.

Additionally, the committee will make curriculum recommendations to the State Board of Education for adoption.
