VDL! looks to make art history with mural
Vision Downtown Lampasas!'s art committee is planning a mural project Saturday from 8-10 a.m. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite pair of cowboy boots and be a part of "art" history in Lampasas.

The event is at 411 S. Western St., at Jerry Goodson's surveying building.

Boots will be photographed by renowned photographer Iuliana Petre to be used in the design of the first of four wall murals being initiated by the art committee.

Participants can enjoy music and refreshments as boots are placed in a maze of colors, photographed and arranged into a design which will eventually be transferred to the building's wall.

Residents will then be invited to make their "mark" on the wall by painting their boots in an easy, paint-bynumber fashion.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at 409 S. Western. While in town, visit the Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden at Campbell Park where five sculptors will be installing new works to be on display for a year, sponsored by Lampasas Association For the Arts.
