Mr. Brown

Al Brown
Longtime Lampasas resident and business owner Alfred Edward Brown Sr., 70, died April 21, 2008, at his residence.

Graveside services with military honors are April 25 at 2 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

The body was cremated.

Mr. Brown was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Canton, Ohio, to Samuel Oliver and Marian Frances Carpenter Brown.

He married Marilyn Nunn on Oct. 3, 1959, in Illinois.

Mr. Brown moved to Lampasas in April 1978. He and his family owned and operated Brown's Store and Lock Service since that time.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving six years.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; two sons, Ed Brown, of Lampasas, and John Brown, stationed on Pascagoula, Miss.; a daughter, Nancy Brown, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren, Arthur, serving in Iraq, Jebb and Marc of Brownwood, Stephanie, stationed in Ashland, Wis., Samantha of Sarasota, Fla., Rie and Chaz of Phoenix, Johnna, Kara and Cassidy, all of Lampasas, George of Key West, Fla., and Daniel, stationed in New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Oliver Brown Jr.

The family requested memorials be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN.
