Lampasan falls in runoff vote
      Hamilton resident Mark Thompson defeated Lampasan Dale Henry 59 percent to 41 percent in Tuesday's Democratic Party runoff for railroad commissioner. With all precincts statewide reporting, Thompson claimed 117,496 votes to Henry's 81,107.

Intoxication assault charges result in jail term
      Judge Joe Carroll, in recent 27th District Court action, sentenced Daniel Ryan Anderson to two 17- year terms in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division, to run concurrently for two counts of intoxication assault. The 24-year-old was credited with jail time served.
