U19 Express opens spring with pair of shutout wins The U19 Tri-City Express girls' soccer team opened its spring season last weekend with two decisive wins. On Saturday, the Express toppled the east Austin Dragons, 6-0, and matched that score in a win over the Round Rock Crush on Sunday. In the win over the Dragons, Angel Waters scored and assisted on a Paige Bishop tally. Kelsie Wilcox scored twice, including an unassisted goal on a cornerkick, and she also registered an assist. Ashley Valmores banged in a loose ball in front of the net for an unassisted score, and the final score came on an own goal by the Dragons. Brittany Hays, Jennifer Taylor, Andy Dibble and Ashley Thompson led the defense in front of keepers Bonnie Wallace and Dibble. Against Round Rock, Wilcox scored twice, and Waters had a goal and an assist. River Hooks and Lucy Wolfram also scored goals, and Bishop added an assist. The final score came via own goal. Liz Hawthorn recorded the shutout in net. |
