Snakes highlight annual jubilee
      The 38th annual Lometa Diamondback Jubilee was dedicated to Tommy Kendrick for his many years of service to Lampasas County. The jubilee was a successful event, with 987 rattlesnakes brought in that weighed over 1,090 pounds.

      Lometa High School and junior high girls are eligible to enter the Lampasas Riata Roundup's sixth annual Riata Roundup Queen Con- test. Contestants should be girls in grades seven through 12. Applications and official rules are available at the school.

Club kicks off spring
      The L-M Garden and Civic Club welcomed spring with a flurry of activities beginning with a regular meeting March 17. Sabrina McKenzie, president, thanked members for their hard work during the Valentine's bouquet sales project. She reminded members to sign up for the Annual Flower Show April 21.
