Annual Bloomin' Fest slated Saturday

The Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce and Courtyard Square Association will combine their efforts to present one of the community's most highly attended festivals in the downtown area.

The seventh annual Bloomin' Fest is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the courthouse square.

The event will offer arts and crafts vendors, plant vendors, food concessions and a children's area.

Gardening vendors will be on hand to answer questions about springtime planting.

A sidewalk chalk art contest will be sponsored by Lampasas Association for the Arts.

Entertainment on the bandstand will be offered throughout the day, beginning at 9 a.m.

From 9-9:25 a.m., Angie Helgesson will perform, followed by David Bohannon and fiddlers from 9:30-9:55 a.m.

Line dancers will be featured from 10-10:50 a.m., and First Baptist Church's Organized Chaos will take to the stage from 11- 11:30 a.m.

D'Anne Willis will sing from 11:35 a.m. to noon, followed by Jan Klose's Hanna Springs Intermediate Choir entertaining with a "Blast from the Past" from 12:05- 12:40 p.m.

Cheyanne Maples will take to the stage from 12:50-1:20 p.m., and P.S. Christian Band will perform from 1:30-2:30 p.m.

From 2:30-3 p.m., sisters Laura Harrington and Karen Cambon will entertain, and the Grace Fellowship Praise Team will hit the stage from 3:05-3:30 p.m.

Carter BloodCare will offer a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the courthouse square for donors ages 17 and older who weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. Please bring photo identification.
