Gordon Hill

Funeral services for Gordon Hill of Lampasas were April 2, 2008, at Sneed Funeral Chapel with Mike East officiating. Burial was at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with military honors.

Mr. Hill died March 30 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital. He was 77.

He was born Aug. 26, 1930, in Estill Springs, Tenn., the son of George and Dollie Long Hill.

Mr. Hill married Marian Frances Brownell on Nov. 11, 1960, in Austin.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a general contractor, most recently working as warehouse foreman for Reagor Plumbing in Burnet.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; daughters, Diane Hill, of Tennessee, Pauline Cantwell, of Old Greenwich, Conn., Darlene Higgs, of Austin, Glenda Bibb, of San Antonio, Susan Hill, of Coppell, and Sandy Vickery, of Wimberley; a son, Dennis Hill, of California; brothers, Glen Hill and J.E. Hill, both of Tennessee; a sister, Pauline Mann, of Tennessee; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.

The family requested memorials be made to Disabled American Veterans.
