CASA volunteers appointed

CASA workers spoke recently to new volunteers about their experiences. They include, from left, Mac Carroll of Lampasas; Dean Darmont of Bertram; Amy Perkins of Blanco; Louise Heindel of Horseshoe Bay; and Terri Buss of Burnet.
Three new Court Appointed Special Advocates were sworn in by 33rd Judicial District Associate Judge Robert Hofmann to begin their work in aiding children in the five-county region of Blanco, Burnet, Lampasas, Llano and San Saba.

Volunteers are assigned as guardian ad litem to advocate for children been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect.

The need for CASA volunteers to represent the children grows daily. More than 100 children still need volunteers.

To find out about becoming a CASA volunteer, contact Diane Wells at (325) 423-0917.
