Jean Kincaid

Briggs resident Jean Kincaid, 83, died March 27, 2008, at her residence.

Graveside services are April 1 at 10 a.m. at Gillum Cemetery at Oakalla with Pastor Gerald Harper officiating.

Mrs. Kincaid was born Oct. 26, 1924, in Burnet County, the daughter of James Victor and Beatrice French Morris.

She attended school in Briggs and later attended Southwest Texas Teacher's College in San Marcos.

She married W.H. Kincaid on Aug. 2, 1942, in Oakalla.

The couple lived in various places around the world during his Air Force career.

Following that, they settled in Austin, and Mrs. Kincaid worked as a secretary for a gravity meter company for over 30 years, retiring in 1992.

The Kincaids moved to the ranch at Briggs in 2004.

She was a member of Central Christian Church in Lampasas.

Survivors include her husband of Briggs; a son, Mark Kincaid, and wife, Sharyl, of Leander; a daughter, Betty Ann Prewitt, and husband, Sherrod, of Hondo; four grandchildren, Dustin Kincaid, Kelly Kincaid, Wesley Prewitt and April Schwab, and husband, Rene; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Byrl Musik, of Lampasas.

The family requested memorials be made to Central Christian Church, 204 S. Broad St., Lampasas.
