Fort Hood offers Passover celebration

The Fort Hood Jewish community announces its events in observance of the Passover holiday, which commemorates the miraculous exodus of the Children of Israel from Egypt approximately 3,300 years ago, as described in the Book of Exodus.

Seders (ritual meals where the story of the exodus is recounted in verse and symbolism) will be held the first and second nights of the holiday, April 19 and April 20, at the West Fort Hood Chapel and Annex on Clarke Road. Seating, which is limited, begins at 8:30 p.m. each day.

Everyone is welcome, but seat reservations are recommended. To reserve a seat, phone the installation chaplain's office at (254) 288-6545 or Major Levsky at (254) 466-3887.

To help defray the cost of the meals, a minimum donation of $18 per person to the Installation Chaplain's Fund is recommended. No donation is requested for active duty military E1-E4 or their dependents.
