Holocaust survivor to tell story
The public is welcome, and questions are encouraged. Jacobs, born Mendel Jakubowicz, ultimately settled in Dallas. His speech will focus on his experiences during the Holocaust and as a survivor. Themes included are: what one human being can do to another, do not take freedom for granted, and how beautiful it is to be free. Jacobs, who was a teenager during World War II, recounts five years of confinement in ghettos and concentration camps. He has volunteered as a lecturer on the Holocaust and is founder and past president of the Holocaust Survivors in Dallas. He also founded the Dallas Memorial Center for Ho- locaust Studies, dedicated to the memory of the 6 million Jews and 5 million non-Jews who died from 1939-1945. Prepaid books, "Holocaust Survivor," are available with personal inscriptions upon request. Phone 556-9771 for forms. Books will be delivered Tuesday night during the presentation. The program is sponsored by Jeff and Diana McDonald. |
