Cleo Smith

Cleo F. "Brownie" Smith died March 22, 2008. He was 87.

Funeral services were March 25 at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home in Lampasas. A graveside service followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born July 16, 1920, in Adamsville, the son of George and Lottie Smith.

He married Leoti Marie Blake on Sept. 29, 1940.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Smith, and wife, Challeene, of Copperas Cove; a daughter, Jeanette Schwartzer, and husband, Bruce, of Cottonwood Shores; grandchildren, Lisa Smith, of Bertram, Jeremy Schwartzer, and wife, Chris, of Cottonwood Shores, Joe Schwartzer, of Lampasas, Richelene Mekush, of Richland Hills, and Angeleene Brown, of Corpus Christi; great-grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Catie Schwartzer, Megan and Brandi Richardson, Chad, Craig and J.D. Brown, Keith and Katharine Mekush, and Jason and Kristi Smith of Corpus Christi.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993, and by his son, George Smith, in 1994.
