GOLF

The Funds for Foster Kids Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday at Hancock Park Golf Course.

The shotgun-start tournament, which is sponsored by the Child Protective Services Board of Lampasas County, will start at 1 p.m. The four-person scramble costs $220 per team, and there is a limit of 22 teams. Cart, sack lunch and catered dinner are included with price of entry fee. The registration deadline is today.

SOFTBALL

There is a co-ed softball tournament scheduled for San Saba on Saturday to raise money to start a youth football league.

BASKETBALL

Ten Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp is accepting and evaluating applications.

The invitation-only camp selects participants from pools of players from 10 to 19 years old. There is also a camp available to players of all skill levels from ages 6 to 18.

Players from all 50 states and 10 foreign countries attended last summer's camp, and some former participants include Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, Grant Hill, Jerry Stackhouse and Antwan Jameson.
