Liberty and justice for some

Last May, this newspaper published a letter I had written informing your readers about an incident I suffered on April 22, 2007. I'm the fellow who the Lampasas County Sheriff's Department S.W.A.T. team called on the phone, informing me that my laundromat was on fire and then assaulted me on my driveway as I ran out of my house en route to a fire that had not occurred. They did this because my wife's immediate supervisor made a false report stating I had taken her hostage. Her supervisor made this report in retaliation to my having reported violations a month prior to that to Child Protective Services that were occurring within the facility of my wife's employment.

The Sheriff's Department did not properly investigate the report and went into attack mode because as one of the deputies recently told me, "the report came from a reliable informant." This reliable informant is in fact a friend of the sheriff and was abusing her position within the community. This motivated the sheriff not to respond to my written request under the Freedom of Information Act not to release the incident reports I had requested afterward.

Every deputy in the Sheriff's Department knew instantly that the informant had lied and that the reason for the lie was retaliation for the 32 CPS violations the facility had been cited for a month prior to the assault on my driveway. However, even after my repeated requests that their informant be charged for giving false information, the Sheriff's Department refused to consider or act on knowledge of the criminal act.

I believe if I had made that false report the Sheriff's Department would have charged me immediately for violating state law. However, in Lampasas County, if you are friends with the sheriff you'll receive the privileges of select law enforcement.

Lometa's police chief also has ignored my requests for prosecution and requests for the April 22 driveway incident reports. The Lometa police are attempting to cover up the incident because the chief and I have personal differences, and they were as guilty as the informant of imposing personal vendettas with your tax dollars. I also have had personal disagreements with the sheriff over the years when they have failed to properly do their job, not because I was involved in any criminal activity.

The informant also immediately fired the woman who is my ex-wife, stating to the State Labor Board that my ex-wife had made a threat to kill one of the facility's owners and three employees. When the labor board requested written statements, the facility was unable to back up the lie. My ex-wife was granted her unemployment wages.

If you are working in Lometa, beware of angering your employer because they just might sic a S.W.A.T. team on you and then continue to attack your family with lies and deceptions. All with the full help of the local law enforcement. The pledge of allegiance ends with the words "with liberty and justice for all."

Since the driveway assault has occurred, I've had to start disposing of my properties, incurring major financial loss. I refuse to live in an area where law enforcement follows the doctrines of Adolf Hitler. I also refuse to pay taxes on a business that goes unprotected by local law enforcement.

The people in this country are in full knowledge that their elected officials are corrupt, yet they repeatedly continue to vote for the same people right down to local levels of our government. Are we lazy, ignorant or cowards? Probably all the above. We dishonor the sacrifices made by our military over the last 200 years.

I do wish all in your community liberty and justice for all. As for me, I'm leaving and moving back to the Untied States of America.
