Grief seminar slated April 15

Living with Loss in Temple will offer its ninth annual free grief seminar April 15 at Memorial Baptist Church in Temple.

A reception is at 8 a.m., and a welcome and opening ceremonies for the seminar, "Living with Loss: Internal and External Grief," is at 8:30 a.m. The event lasts until 3 p.m. and includes a continental breakfast and a box lunch.

Speakers include Dr. Patrick Loring, a professional counselor. Topics include funeral home 101; financial planning -- how much is enough?; advance directives; and Medicare alphabet soup.

The goal of the seminar is to provide grief support, education and information to those in grief or who work in a setting that provides grief support or counseling.

The event is open to educators, counselors, health-care professionals, social workers, funeral directors, nurses and community members.
