Club members make good use of library's services

Town & Country Study Club members Ladonna Bishop, left, and Janice Garner, right, made a recent donation to the Lampasas Public Library's Building Fund, accepted by Sandy Pickett, library employee.
Members of the Town & Country Study Club met recently at the Lampasas Public Library. Members chose to meet at the facility to allow each member to give a report on a favorite book or author.

The organization also chose to take advantage of a service offered to clubs and organizations to inform the community of new features of the library as well as expansion plans.

Sandy Pickett, a library employee, explained the new features of the library, including an online card catalog where patrons can search for book titles, bookmark them or reserve books.

Library board member Judy Lansford told club members of plans for the building's expansion and efforts to raise funds for the project.

The club has made several donations to the library over the years in the form of memorials to former members and to purchase books honoring women who have served as club president.

In addition, the group voted to give a $200 donation toward the library building fund.

Local clubs and organizations seeking to schedule a meeting with library staff may phone 556-3251.
