LHS boys close 2008 soccer season

The Lampasas High School boys' soccer team might not have captured a District 8-4A victory in its final attempt Friday night, but the Badgers gave San Angelo Lake View all it could handle in a 3-1 loss.

It was Senior Night for Lampasas, and head coach Greg Porter started seniors Sam Barbero, Bryon Edwards, Jasetin McPherson, Vincente Montiel and Ross Weems.

Lake View jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes.

But the Badgers responded when senior McPherson beat two defenders down the left side and fired a shot past the Lake View keeper for an unassisted score.

Lake View led 3-1 at the half, and both defenses held the other team in check in the second half.
