Choir, Joy Ringers to perform

The Lampasas Community Cantata Choir will present "The Rose of Calvary" by Joseph M. Martin March 30 at 5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

The church's Joy Ringers Handbell Choir also will present special selections. Both groups are under the direction of Don Peterson, director of music/ministries and the church's organist. The cantata choir consists of singers from other churches in Lampasas County, Copperas Cove and surrounding areas. Singers who also are unaffiliated with a church also participate.

Following the cantata, a reception with punch and cookies will be served by United Methodist Women. The program is co-sponsored by the church and Lampasas Association For the Arts. For more information, phone LAFTA at 556-6997 or the church at 556-5313.
