Kerrville museum sets fund-raiser
The Museum of Western Art in Kerrville opened April 23, 1983, and was first known as the Cowboy Artists of America Museum.
In the 25 years since, hundreds of thousands of visitors have walked the museum galleries and have seen the West brought to life through the artwork on display.
Depicting every aspect of Western life, the art displayed features the hard-working cowboys, plains Indians, women of the West, settlers, mountain men and more.
Other displays highlight the history of famous ranches, the diversity of the Western culture and the traditional talents of its skilled craftsmen.
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, a black-tie anniversary gala will be held at the Callioux Center on the Schreiner University campus.
The night will begin at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner and dancing. Entertainment will be provided by Chris Story and the Southern Edge Band.
Tickets are $125 per person. For reservations, phone the museum at (830) 896-2553, ext. 221.
