Genealogy event on tap

A genealogy lock-in will be hosted by the West Bell County and Five Hills Genealogical Societies April 11 from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Killeen Main Library, 205 E. Church Ave.

Everyone is invited to the free event.

Genealogists and those interested in starting to work on family history will be able to get assistance from volunteers from area societies; have an opportunity to explore popular Internet websites and learn about others; tour the library's growing genealogical collections; and trade or purchase books and periodicals from other researchers.

Other opportunities include being able to network with other genealogists and learn their secrets; have exclusive use of the library's books, periodicals and online genealogical resources; and learn about lineage societies like Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy and others.

For more information, contact Beverly Kittinger, event chairman, at (254) 547-1403 or walkabout@ hot.rr.com, or Linda Ledger at 547-4050 or ledgerfamily@aol. com.
