Betsy Oliver
Funeral services for Elizabeth "Betsy" Bailey Oliver, 83, of Lampasas were March 10, 2008, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Father Steve Whitfield officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mrs. Oliver died March 7 at Spring Oaks Nursing & Rehab in Lampasas.

She was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Lampasas, the daughter of Ross White and Jeffersonia "Jeffie" Bloodworth Bailey.

Mrs. Oliver attended Texas State College for Women in Denton.

She married John Kyle Oliver on Sept. 6, 1947, in Lampasas.

She traveled around the world with her husband while he served in the U.S. Air Force. Duty stations included Alaska, Germany, San Antonio, Maryland and Alabama.

Mrs. Oliver was a member of the Air Force Wives Club, Episcopal Church Women and chairman of the Vera Gang Scott Scholarship Fund.

She is survived by her husband of Lampasas; two daughters, Jeanna Oliver Swope, and husband, Mark, and Joan Oliver Olderog, and husband, Ron; two sons, John Ross Oliver, and wife, Francie, and Jeffery Kyle Oliver, and wife, Denise; nine grandchildren, Kyle Oliver, Carrie Oliver Zachry, John Paul Swope, Kate Swope, Oliver Olderog, Bailey Olderog, Ty Wheeler, Brett Wheeler and Brooke Oliver; and several nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Bailey and Bud Bailey, and by three sisters, Emily Black, Francis Payne and Harriet Mayes.

The family requested memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 4829, Austin, TX 78765, or St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Fourth and Chestnut

streets in Lampasas.
