Mrs. Dugger

Lampasas resident Ruth Hazel Dugger, 91, died March 8, 2008, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.

Funeral services are March 12 at 1 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with the Rev. Byron Myrick officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Visitation is March 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the chapel.

Mrs. Dugger was born Aug. 11, 1916, in Moorsville, Ala., the daughter of James Franklin and Annie Dorothy Johnson Hafley.

She graduated from Nevada High School where she was class salutatorian.

She married Junior Haywood Dugger, and he preceded her in death in 1996.

Mrs. Dugger had lived in Lampasas since 1952, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She worked for local schools at the elementary cafeteria.

Survivors include a daughter, Nina Davis, of Grand Prairie; two sons, Phillip Dugger, and wife, Nita, and David Dugger, and wife, Cherie, all of Lampasas; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Fraser Hafley; a sister, Jeanetta Hafley; and a grandson, Merrick Davis III.
