Mrs. Nobles

Ruth Vernie Nobles, 64, of Lampasas died March 3, 2008, at her residence.

A memorial service was held March 6 in Lampasas with Dennis Rehders officiating.

Mrs. Nobles was born March 7, 1943, in Ordway, Colo.

She was reared and educated at various Air Force duty stations.

She was married to Robert Bruce McElrath Sr., on March 22, 1961, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Nobles was a homemaker, a Girl Scout leader and a professional cake decorator. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lampasas.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Nobles, of Lampasas; two sons, Thomas McElrath, of Warner Robins, Ga., and Robert McElrath Jr., of Kempner; three daughters, Marie Arras, of Crowley, Sharon Parks, of Lampasas, and Robin Shoemaker, of Farmersville, Ill.; two brothers, Gerald South and Carl South, of Grand Junction, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
