Richardson earns prestigious award through Marine Corps

LHS grad Jennifer Richardson was honored with a prestigious Marine Corps award.
Ssgt. Jennifer K. Richardson, a Lampasas High School graduate, received the PFC Herbert A. Littleton Award which recognizes individuals for significant contributions and accomplishments in the field of command, control, communications and computers in support of the Marine Corps Operational Communications Mission.

Ms. Richardson was invited to Washington, D.C., to accept the prestigious award.

After a museum tour and dinner, she was presented the award by General Magnus, assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, and Sgt. Maj. Kent, sergeant major of the Marine Corps. Schade Tree

Ms. Richardson, who entered the Marine Corps in 1998, is serving with the 9th Communications Battalion at Camp Pendleton, Calif., and soon will deploy for her second tour to the Al Anbar Province of Iraq.

Following her desert tour, Ms. Richardson will go to South Carolina where she will serve as a drill instructor.

She previously was stationed in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Okinawa.

She is the daughter of Bonnie Richardson Pabst and the granddaughter of Doris Richardson and the late Joe Richardson, all of Lampasas.
