Pedestrian killed in accident A Lampasas County woman was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident Sunday morning that also sent one other pedestrian and three teens to area hospitals. According to a report filed by Department of Public Safety Trooper II Michael Ray Tatum, Devan Kase Post, 17, was the driver of a 1995 Chevy SUV. Post was traveling south on County Road 2200 at 9:50 a.m. about seven miles east of Lometa off FM 581. Post's vehicle drifted off the roadway to the right, and he overcorrected, crossing the roadway. The Chevy hit a tree in the northbound barrow ditch before it struck two pedestrians. The vehicle then rolled over onto its top. Kirsti Star Alley, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Dick Lockett. Claudia Gayle Murdoch, 48, the second pedestrian, was flown to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple with back and internal injuries. Those injured in the auto were transported to Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas with minor injuries. Post and Corey Mobley, 18, of Kempner, suffered cuts and bruises, while 18-year-old Michelle Benton of Lampasas had broken bones. Assisting at the scene were DPS Sgt. Stephen Fox Bynum, Lampasas County Sheriff's Department officials, Lampasas Fire Department and Lometa Fire Department. |
