Traffic stop results in methamphetamine arrest Lampasas Police Department Sgt. Charles Montgomery made a traffic stop in Lampasas last week that resulted in the arrest of a San Saba man on possession charges. Assistant Chief Sammy Bailey said Montgomery was eastbound in the 400 block of East Fourth Street and stopped a traffic violator for an expired motor vehicle registration. A passenger in the vehicle, Gilbert Flores Jr., 28, ran from the police officer and struggled to resist arrest, Ms. Bailey said. Flores was arrested and charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance over four grams and under 200 grams, and resisting arrest or search. He was released after posting $45,000 bond. The assistant chief credited Montgomery for "stopping 42 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $4,200 from being delivered to our community." |
