Burn ban

A 90-day ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of the county went into effect Monday. Exceptions include cooking in barbecue pits, burning household trash in a screened barrel and burning for agricultural purposes with county fire marshal approval. A violation of the order is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
