Vonnie Tucker

Funeral services for Vonnie J. Tucker, 74, of Lampasas are Feb. 29, 2008, at 2 p.m. at First Street Church of Christ with Odell Farr officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mr. Tucker died Feb. 26 at Spring Oaks Terrace.

He was born Aug. 14, 1933, in Andice, the son of Clyde M. and Shirley McNorton Tucker.

Mr. Tucker and his wife, Jo, were married June 4, 1954.

He was a school teacher for 30 years, teaching at Summit Elementary School near Austin, Round Rock High School and Copperas Cove High School.

Mr. Tucker was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association and Kiwanis Club. He was an ordained minister and a deacon.

After his retirement, Mr. Tucker was a rancher. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; a son, Tim Tucker, and wife, Danita, of Dripping Springs; a daughter, Cissie Farr, and husband, Ron, of Lampasas; and grandchildren, Celie Farr, Keely Tucker, Makenzie Tucker, Drew Tucker, Haley Brewer and husband, Michael, and Emily Copeland and husband, Curtis.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carley Jean Farr.

The family requested memorials be made to the Torreon School of Preaching in Mexico.
