LHS sweeps Bangs Meet
LHS brought home team titles in the varsity and junior varsity boys' divisions, and the varsity and junior varsity girls' divisions. The LHS varsity boys scored 213 points, 91 more than second-place Hawley. The LHS varsity girls scored 196 points, topping secondplace Bangs by 25 points. The LHS junior varsity boys racked up 191 points, beating second place Bangs by 15 points, and the junior varsity girls dominated their division with 220 points. The LHS varsity boys jumped out to an early lead in the field events on the strength of sophomore thrower Brode DuBose and sophomore jumper Aaron Reyna. DuBose, a regional qualifier last year, won the discus with a throw of 133 feet, six inches and finished second in the shot put with a heave of 47 feet, 51/2 inches. Reyna scored two golds in the field events, winning the long jump at 19-21/2 and the triple jump at 38-11. Senior Clay Tyner put an exclamation point on the field events, winning the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, two inches.
The Badgers also swept the re- lays. The 400-meter relay team of Cory Summers, Reyna, DuBose and Tyler Phelan grabbed gold in a time of 44.63 seconds. The 800-meter relay team of Summers, Reyna, Phelan and Angelo Hardy won in a time of 1:33.69. The 1600 relay team of Summers, Kooper Liverman, Jeremy Brown and Hardy won in a time of 3:38.04. The LHS varsity and junior varsity girls' individual results were not available at press time. They will appear in Friday's Dispatch Record. The Badgers and Lady Badgers varsity and junior varsity teams are scheduled to compete at the Gatesville Invitational on Friday. Bangs Track Meet Varsity Boys
