Correa-Johnston
Minister Travis Franklin officiated the double-ring evening ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Rolly and Beth Correa. She is the granddaughter of Shirley and Braden Edwards and Don and Paula Hill. The groom's parents are Terry and Sandy Johnston. The church was decorated with bows, tulle and candles. Stephanie Dang, violinist, played traditional church hymns prior to the ceremony. During the ceremony, Mary Bentley performed, "How Beautiful." Teatsy Farris was pianist. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, chose an ivory, sweetheart, strapless gown. It featured a shirred bodice edged with delicate beading and embellished with imperial lace. The bodice cascaded into a dropped waist with a split-front skirt edged with beading and a chapel-length train. The bride wore an ivory veil and carried a bouquet of red roses. Maid of honor was Kristina Pescatore, and matron of honor was Shawn Wolff, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Kara Payne, Katherine Barber, Krista Anderson, Stephanie Dang, Shannon Frawley, Emily Gunn and Alexis Markham. The maid and matron of honor wore floor-length, black formal dresses. The strapless gowns had a white ribbon sash. They carried red roses. Other attendants wore similar dresses with a black ribbon sash. Flower girls were Lauren Altom, the bride's step-cousin, and Samantha Wolff, niece of the groom. They wore tea-length dresses in matte satin. The bodices were adorned with hand-sewn faux pearls. Tulle skirts were decorated with satin flowers. Both girls tossed rose petals as they made their way down the aisle. Best men were Trey Hutton, cousin of the groom, and Chauncey Gearhart. Groomsmen were Ryan Hodge; Barry Hodge; Todd Wolff, brotherin law of the groom; Tyler Correa and Dustin Correa, brothers of the bride; Dave Shrum; and Anthony Deringer. Ring bearer was Austin Wolff, the groom's nephew. After the ceremony, a reception was hosted by the bride's parents. Members of the houseparty included 10 longtime friends of the couple's parents. The bride's white four-tier cake was decorated with black ribbon and red roses cascading down the sides. The groom's two-layer chocolate cake had two single layers on each side. After a week-long wedding trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple is at home in Temple. The bride earned a bachelor of science in communications from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a student at Baylor University working toward a master's degree. The groom earned a master's divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Seminary School. He is an associate pastor and youth minister for Salado United Methodist Church. Prior to the ceremony, the groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Celebration Center in Salado. ![]() |
