Errors bite LHS softball The Lampasas High School softball team fell to 3-3 on the season with a 13-7 road loss against Gatesville on Tuesday. The Lady Badgers got solid starting pitching and timely hitting, but 11 errors cost them 11 unearned runs. Senior Kirby Crow started the game and went 3.2 innings, allowing just one earned run. Freshman Taylor Holloman went the rest of the way, allowing just one earned run. "Both our pitchers pitched well -- well enough to win -- but 11 earned runs are hard to overcome," LHS head coach Chris Gaffney said. "Offensively, we swung the bats well, and did a good job hitting the ball to the opposite field. We scored seven runs, which is usually enough to win." The Lady Badgers were scheduled to open the three-day Ennis Tournament on Thursday. Their home-opener is slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday against Waco Midway. |
