Sam Barbero: Forward's goal tied the game at 2-2.
The Lampasas High School boys' soccer team almost picked up its first win of the season Tuesday on the road against San Angelo Lake View, but a late Lake View goal spoiled the bid with a 3-2 loss.

The Badgers, who opened the game with good offensive pressure from Ross Weems and Jasetin McPherson, held a 1-0 lead at the 14-minute mark, but Lake View rallied for two goals to lead 2-1 at the half.

In the 44th minute, forward Sam Barbero scored on a one-on-one opportunity against the Lake View keeper to tie the game at 2-2.

A Badger red card forced the team to play the final 15 minutes of the game with 10 players, and Lake View broke the tie and held on to win.

The LHS girls fell to 1-5-1 in District 8-4A with a 4-0 home loss against Lake View on Tuesday. The win gave Lake View sole possession of third place behind Abilene Wylie and Stephenville.
