Probation violation nets state jail time

Judge Joe Carroll, in a recent 27th District Court hearing, determined that Charles Henry Oliver V, 20, had violated his probation. The judge assessed 15 months in state jail with credit for jail time served. Oliver was charged with possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.

In other court action, 23-yearold Rene Rivera also was found to have violated his probation for evading arrest with a vehicle. His probation was revoked, and Rivera was sentenced to nine months in state jail with credit for time served.

A revocation hearing is scheduled today for Jeffrey Dwain Morgan, 25, for hindering a secured creditor.

Pamela Rhea Harbin, 36, of Buchanan Dam is set for an adjudication hearing today. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Arraignments are set Feb. 29 for Holli Elise Ricketts, 42, of Harker Heights for forgery; Wesley Gene Talbert, 32, of Lampasas for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; Thomas Edward Austerberry, 23, of Harker Heights for evading arrest with a vehicle; Joshua Steven Joswick, 19, for evading arrest with a vehicle; and Curtis Byron Crumley III, 21, of Lampasas for criminal mischief with a deadly weapon.

Also on the Feb. 29 docket are adjudication hearings for Lubbock resident Diane Renteria Hernandez, 50, for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine; and Lowell Preston Garza, 18, for injury to a child, serious bodily injury.

In a bond hearing, Jeremy Mathurin, 22, had his bond lowered to $5,000. He is set to enter a plea April 4 for criminal attempt. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.
