Early voting under way for March primary
      Early voting for the March 4 Republican and Democratic primaries began Tuesday and runs through Feb. 29. Ballots may be cast between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the office of the elections administrator, 412 S. Live Oak. On March 4, voting will be conducted from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Kempner sets city election

Probation violation nets state jail time
      Judge Joe Carroll, in a recent 27th District Court hearing, determined that Charles Henry Oliver V, 20, had violated his probation. The judge assessed 15 months in state jail with credit for jail time served. Oliver was charged with possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.
